Velocity Roofing LLC — Effective 2026

1. Safety Policy Statement

It is the policy of Velocity Roofing LLC to provide a safe and healthy workplace for all employees. We are committed to preventing injuries, illnesses, and accidents through proper training, hazard recognition, and adherence to safety procedures.

All employees are required to follow this safety program and report unsafe conditions immediately.


2. Responsibilities

Management

  • Provide safe equipment and working conditions
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards
  • Conduct regular safety training and inspections

Supervisors

  • Enforce safety rules on job sites
  • Conduct daily safety briefings (“toolbox talks”)
  • Correct hazards immediately

Employees

  • Follow all safety procedures
  • Use required PPE
  • Report hazards, injuries, and near-misses

3. Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment

Conduct job hazard analysis (JHA) before starting work. Identify risks such as falls from height, ladder misuse, weather exposure, electrical hazards, and material handling injuries.


4. Fall Protection

  • Fall protection is required at heights of 6 feet or more.
  • Guardrails, safety nets, and personal fall arrest systems (PFAS) must be used.
  • Full-body harnesses must be worn and properly anchored.
  • Anchor points must support at least 5,000 lbs per worker.
  • Inspect all equipment before use.

5. Ladder Safety

  • Use ladders rated for the job (Type I or IA recommended)
  • Maintain 3 points of contact
  • Secure ladders at top and bottom
  • Extend ladders at least 3 feet above roof edge

6. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Required PPE includes hard hats, safety glasses, non-slip footwear, gloves, and high-visibility clothing when needed. Additional PPE may be required depending on the task.


7. Roofing Equipment Safety

Inspect tools and equipment daily. Use manufacturer guidelines. Do not use damaged tools. Ensure proper guarding on power tools.


8. Weather Conditions

Work will be stopped under hazardous conditions such as high winds, lightning storms, and heavy rain or ice. Supervisors must monitor conditions.


9. Material Handling

  • Use proper lifting techniques.
  • Use mechanical assistance when possible.
  • Store materials securely to prevent sliding or falling.

10. Electrical Safety

  • Maintain safe distance from power lines.
  • Use grounded or double-insulated tools.
  • Inspect extension cords regularly.

11. Training Program

Employees will receive safety orientation, fall protection, ladder safety, and hazard communication training. Training will be documented and refreshed regularly.


12. Incident Reporting

  • Report all injuries immediately.
  • Report near-misses and unsafe conditions.
  • Complete reports within 24 hours and investigate incidents.

13. Emergency Procedures

  • Maintain first aid kits on all job sites.
  • Identify nearest medical facility.
  • Ensure at least one trained first aid/CPR employee is present.

In case of emergency: Call 911, provide first aid if trained, and notify supervisor immediately.


14. Substance Abuse Policy

Zero tolerance for drugs or alcohol on job sites. Employees must report fit for duty.


15. Safety Inspections

  • Daily site inspections by supervisors.
  • Weekly audits.
  • Immediate correction of hazards.

16. Disciplinary Policy

Failure to follow safety rules may result in verbal warning, written warning, suspension, or termination.


17. Recordkeeping

  • Maintain OSHA logs (300, 300A, 301).
  • Keep training records.
  • Document inspections and incidents.

18. Program Review

This safety program will be reviewed annually and updated as needed.
